Yes, category 7 and 8 vets will now be asked to foot part of the cost of medical coverage. What you did not state is that category 8 vets that will be asked to pay a $250 fee and a small co-pay are vets who have NO service related issues and make in excess of $38,000 per year. Category 7 vets are those who have NO service related issues and make more than around $30,000 per year (I have forgotten the exact amount).
These folks may have served a very short time in the military, never left the states, and have no service connected injuries or disabilities at all, yet have been getting lifetime medical benefits for free. I do not think the new proposed regulations are onerus or out of line at all. The liberals are whining and moaning as if the world was coming to an end - what a farce.
