Sara, don't quote the SFChron. You know you can't trust them to get the facts right :)

The few spending cuts advanced are so extreme they're embarrassing. To defray part of the $1.2 trillion cost, the Republican budget decreases veterans' benefits by $6 billion (House Republicans asked for a $28 billion cut). This is a slap in the face to every current and former member of our armed services, including those who fulfilled their mission with great courage in Iraq. If this is what's happening to their veterans' benefits, imagine what's in store for Medicaid (House Republicans proposed slashing it by $93 billion).
Do you not sense a bit of hypocrisy in the howling of the liberals about the supposed cuts in veterans benefits?? This is coming from the very same folks who opposed every spending bill to support the military and the service people ever proposed in congress. Like willie, their beloved leader, they "loathe" the military, yet now (again like willie) they turn on the alligator tears weeping for the service men and women that they never cared a whit about before now.
