And if you think they're not capable of effectively cooperating and creating a better and more reliable, solid system than Intel can, you will be surprised. Several have been producing products superior to Intel's. These folks are sharp and hungry. AMD kept them alive and they won't forget it.

It is fundamentally more challenging to engage in 3rd party development than it is to grow something internally. I think Intel has the advantage of well aligned business groups that know how to plan for one another's internal roadmaps, while AMD has a circus of players, some mediocre, some adept. But the challenge is getting everyone to play together, and if AMD plays favorites, they are going to be making more enemies than friends.
