#301775 RE: Decarz #301770

decarz: I had to laugh out loud at the classic line in your post:

Decarz: "'A very odd combination'"

Having spent all of my career in Fortune 100 companies, I have often wondered how in the heck did a board approve the spectacular failures I was often tasked to implement.

Before leaving F100 behind for my own demises, the last fantastic failure I was to oversee was WOW! chips from Frito-Lay. Before launch, I flew out to Cincinnati for a P&G dinner at a 5 star restaurant where the entire dinner was prepared with Olesta, the star ingredient in our new WOW! Chips. When one of my P&G dinner companions asked about our preparations for the launch, I said we were on schedule for a vigorous addition of more bathrooms at the F-L headquarters. I thought it as funny.

Nobody at P&G ever thinks something is funny.

Nut, nut: 10 men and women can make a decision opposite what every single one would decide individually.

Shortly after the launch, we had to toss packaging to add "This Product Contains Olestra. Olestra may cause abdominal cramping and loose stools. Olestra inhibits the absorption of some vitamins and other nutrients. Vitamins A, D, E, and K have been added."

I will have to say NeoMedia's failure during this period were epic and unlike Frito-Lay, they couldn't afford it.
