Our destruction of the religious and political leadership in Iran has been a long time coming. This is not some reflexive action on Bush's part but part of a long term regional strategy that was initiated in the days after 9/11. In my eyes this is something that SHOULD have been done 27 years ago.

I agree a US-Iran confrontation is a real possiblilty, but I do not think it is a virtual certainty as you do.

But if you are right things could get scary very fast.
