Well, i guess having a father that was a NCAA division 1 head coach wouldn't give a person an extra advantage at the stage of being groomed and given an extra look while in Pop Warner, junior high, or high school. you can teach someone a work ethic, but you cannot teach someone to be 6 foot 3 and throw an 90 mph fastball. (he was drafted by the kansas city royals out of high school but went on to play both football and baseball at stanford)
he was born with unusual athletic gifts and to a professional developer of athletes... i guess that is just hard work that got him ahead... sounds like a republican's view of the world.
