BBY guides FebQ higher (BBY) 48.83 : Co now expects Q4 (Feb) EPS from continuing ops of $1.25-1.30 vs Reuters consensus of $1.16 and vs prior guidance of "approaching the high end of $1.06-1.16." Co says "The strong revenue momentum that we saw in December accelerated through January." Co cites strength in flat-panel TVs, portable audio products (including MP3 players), notebook computers and video gaming. An increase of 20% in gift cards issued during the holiday season also helped.

Looking ahead to Q1 (May), co says earnings will likely show a fairly modest yoy increase as it represents the most difficult earnings comparison for the coming year. Co also says it plans to open nearly 90 new stores in the US and Canada in FY07.

ERES $18.50~$14~$15 beats by a penny; guides Q1 below consensus, provides Y06 outlook (ERES) 17.76 +0.91: Reports Q4 (Dec) earnings of $0.10 per share, $0.01 better than the Reuters Estimates consensus of $0.09; revenues fell 6.3% year/year to $25.4 mln vs the $25.1 mln consensus. Co issues downside guidance for Q1, sees EPS of $0.05-0.07 vs. $0.10 consensus; sees Q1 revs of $21-23 mln vs. $26.82 mln consensus. Co issues guidance for FY06, sees EPS of $0.42-0.48, which may not be comparable to the $0.46 consensus; sees FY06 revs of $112-118 mln vs. $115.18 mln consensus. Co notes that guidance does not include stock expenses of approx $0.01 for Q1 and $0.03-0.04 for Y06.
