I don't think it's too far out to begin considering the ramifications of getting too far away from Max Pain.
I make Max Pain for May on CSCO at $14.00, MSFT 25 again, Dell 27.50, INTC 17.50, QQQ at 27.00 (up from 26.50 last week),however, NDX Max Pain appears to be 1100. AMGN is $60, CMCSA is 30, ORCL is $11.50, AMAT is $14.00, QCOM is about 32.50 (the only one so far trading below pain), EBAY 90, AMZN about $26.00. SPX is 875, Dow is about 8275, BTK is 340, BBH is about 97.50, SMH is 25, SOX is 300, YHOO is 26.
I've noticed that often times when NDX and QQQ max pain do not agree, the NDX pain level often times comes into play, especially when the NDX Max Pain level is above the QQQ.
The lower Max Pain levels on these large caps puts the QQQ Max Pain number in question.
This is a read from Monday's open interest.
