Obviously Peter "the beater" Michaels is all paid up or he would be in jail. It's sad that he needs to be drug in court every other month to pay support for his own kids! The guy is a real dirt bag!
And no, California isn't tough on this stuff at all! If they were, Michaels would have been thrown in jail a long time ago. The rotten SOB actually owes over $175K in back support. The court has allowed him to make portions of back payment which are very small. It will take decades for him to actually pay everything he actually owes. They should have thrown his azz is jail long ago when he first didn't pay to support his own kids!

LaLife, Amanda has covered this but I also wanted to say that good ol' CA isn't tough on anything. If he or anyone is staying current on the monthly payments, which include some pay for the back child support.. they get to stay out of jail.
IF Michaels doesn't pay his monthly child support.. it will be a different story.. That is why it was so important for him to get all caught up in Dec.... otherwise... he would be wearing stripes.
