The dispensary and TRTC are 2 separate entities.
Derek would not risk the legal implications of having a publicly traded company directly associated with MJ until he knew it would be ok. However, obviously just recently that has/is changing. That is why it's separate.
By keeping the dispensary separated he has insulated TRTC from any Federal threat. Same as why they have focused on leafy greens; growing a large US footprint with a profitable product until they are ready to cross the "green line" into MJ/Hemp.
If the Fed's decided to get stupid and crack down TRTC would be safe from prosecution and could continue growing Lettuce, Basil, etc. profitably.
They have been very careful and deliberate in their business plan and it is working out beautifully. I have a lot of respect for how Derek has managed this so far and I am excited to see where we go from here.
