I read the same article, and it never stated that the goal was merely to come up with the bare minimum for launch. In fact, it gives more the impression that they are building up for a fast ramp.

Does Dempsey 3.73GHz / 1067x2 / FBD-667x4 help jog yours? By the way, from what I've heard on DDR2 loading, it will be impossible to get 4 DIMMs per channel at DDR2-800. I'm thinking most commercial installations will be far short of the "benchmark special".

I'll decide when I see the benchmarks. But from Charlie Inq himself, if you have lost 40% performance without virtualization technology, VT helps win back 30%, and Pacifica ends up winning 35% back, how much slower is VT? Hint: it's not 35/30 = 17% faster.
