I don't see how laser technology to identify pathogens can be considered obsolete. Lasers have been around for only 50 years or so. I don't believe the inventor of the laser, Gordon Gould , envisioned it being used for such a purpose. No, I think the opposite is true. This technology is just getting started. Now with 2 Universities doing further studies on it, we should see much more positive results. Most advances in new ideas comes from research done in colleges. I think we're in the right place at the right time.
