I don't think AMD has paid for anything in the gcc project apart from x86-64 support and perhaps 29000 support. Can you name anything concrete they contributed?
Intel, on the other hand has contributed quite a lot over the years.
XEmacs was mainly done by Lucid, building of course on the Emacs code base from the GNU project.
