True but official benchmarks can't be hacked. They must run straight compiled code.

That seems to be an unnecessary requirement in this case. Surely you can't be blamed for running code optimized for your competitor?

Cross compilation is allowed on SPECcpu, and I think that applies to most other benchmarks too:
