3. Itanium2 max power is 130W. Opteron max power is something less than 84.7W. That figure is an upper bound. As you'll note, it's the same for all speed grades so far, so it is clearly not the actual max power value. Now if you redefine "max power" to merely be "a value" that will not be exceeded, rather than "the smallest value" that will not be exceeded, the datasheet is technically correct, but this definition is not very useful.

5. I understand Itanium2 still doesn't have a fully featured Microsoft OS. That is, the Itanium2 version released is not fully native, or is missing important pieces (related to the .NET framework maybe?). Saw this posted somewhere within the past few weeks. Itanium might do a tad better this year, unless Intel whispers about Yamhill, in which case, Itanium sales die instantly.
