Yes that is correct. I use Scottrade. Looking at my account I have 2 Buying power sections - 1 for Margin and 1 Non Margin. You never have to touch the margin part of your account. Whether you buy and sell the same day, or buy and sell the next day, the funds are settled immediately after you sell.
