Perhaps for the consumer that will be true.

For enterprise, there are many firms that have decades of in-house legacy software tied up with Microsoft and Office. In this case there may be a value prop. Another scenario is that windows gets virtualized in the cloud and you can use any thin client to access your legacy apps.

I generally agree that Wintel on the client is becoming more and more irrelevant as time passes.
