The Xeon is giving you better throughput and 5X better per thread performance while burning about half the power.
Summary, T5 is a hot POS suitable only for very highly threaded workloads with very low single thread performance requirements. Even then a Xeon would the smarter and cheaper choice. Only SPARC binary hostages would choose Oracle's overpriced POS.
