If you can make 1-2% per month, there is nothing like it. Yes you do miss the potential of big payout. That is called speculation or gambling in layman's term. And not investing.
If I were managing $1M+, sure, 1-2% per month isn't bad at all - one could generate six figures of yearly income with such a strategy.
Unfortunately, not every investor has that kind of capital, so us peasants need to rely on stocks actually going up to build wealth ;-)
