You mean if the option trade is opening or closing, right? (you can pretty much tell if it is being bought or sold by checking time and sales) I've always wondered that myself, and asked some of the option players on the floor a few years ago. The answer: that would be giving way too much away! -no kidding. Keep an eye on open interest. That's the best you can do for now.
