I'm not sure that even that will succeed in the long term. There's all sorts of concerns that start getting more important when the price is not too high. There's the flexibility of in-house design. There's the safety of knowing people are competing for your custom and trying to do better than each other. There's the security of being able to inspect the design in detail. There's the prestige of doing one's own thing the way you want rather than someone else decided was good. There's the belonging of being part of an ecosystem rather than a client with little power.
