The mineral claims are like the patents and the trade secrets. This is like the good geology that precedes drilling. The pre-clinical studies, and the upcoming clinical trials are the equivalent of drilling.
The pre-clinicals may be likened to scout drilling where the simplest tests are made to attempt to verify the hypothesis stated in the patents.
The clinical trials are like full-blown drilling programs to fully delineate the deposit.
In the case of NNVC we began with the fundamental geology and excellent geochem and geophysics. Then we put down a number of drill holes in a scout drilling program. The results of that have led to willingness to invest in a full-scale drilling program, and for that we need the manufacturing plant to produce small, clinical trial, amounts of any drug in any formulation (currently foreseen). That plant is now being constructed. This is like lining up the equipment and the drillers, and preparing the systems to monitor, capture, and organize the resulting data, thereby allowing demonstration that it is time to begin developing the actual mine so product can be sold.
I've been carefully watching this process go forward in a small mineral exploration company with the words "Liberty" and "Star" in its name.
