It worked in Japan too. The problem is, its still landing softly some 20+ years later. I think mention of the words 'buy and hold' are considered vulgar over there, whilst the word 'hopeful' can be best described as our situation.
I think ours lasts about half as long (I think you've mentioned it'll be about a 10-year bear also), but there'll probably be the same kind towel throwing parties as over there, here, bringing us to the same destination in sentiment.
