the fact that the US didn't conclude the deal as early as they wanted to gives some hope to the hope the final deal will be fairer to all concerned than it might have been if the US fulfilled their original desires .. hope they end with a deal fairly reasonable for all countries concerned ..

There have been massive protests, not only in the US

but all across Europe as well.

I've listened to many conversations about the TPP and have yet to hear one person actually supporting it. Progressive congress people like Alan Grayson says he saw an edited version and this is what he had to say......

"Having seen what I've seen, I would characterize this as a gross abrogation of American sovereignty," Grayson told HuffPost. "And I would further characterize it as a punch in the face to the middle class of America. I think that's fair to say from what I've seen so far. But I'm not allowed to tell you why!"

The Obama administration is trying to fast track this through congress which means it can't be anything good.

HOW THE TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP WOULD IMPACT YOU

FAST TRACK
is the mechanism that will allow the Obama administration to
circumvent constitutional checks and balances
to ram the TPP through Congress
JUST LIKE HIS PREDECESSORS DID WITH NAFTA AND THE WTO.

THE TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP is a MASSIVE "FREE TRADE"
AGREEMENT

It is currently being negotiated behind closed doors by officials from the United States and 11 other countries: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) has been under negotiation for 5 years.

THE PUBLIC, CONGRESS, & THE PRESS CANNOT SEE THE DRAFT TPP TEXT
More than 600 official corporate "trade advisors" have access. The Obama administration plans to sign TPP by fall 2013.

Although it is called a "free trade" agreement, the TPP is not really mainly about trade.
Of the TPP's 29 draft chapters, only 5 deal with traditional trade issues. Most would set rules on non-trade matters that affect our daily lives: food safety, internet freedom, medicine costs, job off-shoring, financial regulation, and more.

Our domestic policies would be required to comply with the TPP rules.

Take Action. Derail Fast Track.
Stop the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
