U.S. dollar strength is down -0.40% against the Yen, up +0.31% against the Euro. Light Crude Oil is down -0.50 to 67.85. Natural Gas is down -0.07 to 9.32. Gold is up +2.80 to 573.40. Economic data released this morning included the ICSC-UBS Store Sales for the week of 1/28/06, in which Store Sales came in at an actual W/W change of -1.1%, and the Store Sales came in at an actual Y/Y change of 4.1%; the Employment Cost Index, in which the ECI came in at a Q/Q change of 0.8%, below a consensus 0.9%, and the ECI came in at an actual Y/Y change of 3.1%; and the Redbook for the week of 1/28/06, which came in at an actual change of 4.1%.
Napster (NAPS, +1.31) is up +41.99% on rumors the company will be taken over by Google (GOOG). Goodyear Tire (GT, -2.16) is down -14.18% after giving their Q4 revenue guidance and getting downgraded by DBAB.
