Such offerings are often used by the buyers to set up hedges, but in this case, it is a zero coupon convertible at $51 or so, so I doubt much of a hedging opportunity will be had. It reminds me of the rights offering MU sold few years back, a theft. Who buys that stuff anyhow? Longer term, the fact that they could do it is quite bullish IMTO.
