So, what is the bet with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Are investors betting that the conservatorship will be dissolved and they will get a windfall or that they will sell to new investors on pops of the stock price?

I believe that the writer means well. However, we know they tried to put fear into F&F investors in August when Obama said that they were planning to shut down F&F. Nothing materialized then. Although this caused the stock prices of F&F to drop at the time, look at where we are today. Truly, nothing will materialize from this story as well. At the risk of repeating what I said earlier here it goes - You see, what they do not yet know, they don’t know that they don’t know! But there is still much to learn. These writers don't understand or believe in the F&F story. Indeed, I believe that they speak from the same perspective as Monesthind. F&F do not represent your everyday regular trading stocks. These are a special story, once in a lifetime situations if you will, which have significant untapped value where once this value is realized then the stock price will reflect its truer fair value at much higher prices. But I must warn that truly, truly I say one should always be cautious when investing in the stock market.

Puleeze..Your splitting hairs. "Conserve and preserve" assets of fannie mae will do just fine...especially with a company with a monopoly on the low down payment mortgages. If you could buy BRK-B for under $3 per share this might matter. You cant see the forest for the trees.
