Could you guys send some rain Arizona way? We're about to break our record of 101 days without rain ( I think tomorrow )

A little trivia: Baghdad, California went 767 straight days without rain between 1912 & 1914

Eureka! It worked. I woke up during the night and heard the raindrops falling on the roof, Id.

It has stopped now but we have an 80% chance for more today ...according to the San Antonio weatherman. His predictions are much more accurate than Austin's, BTW.

I'm not all that familiar with Olmos Dam as I live closer to Canyon Dam...which is used for flood control. And it has served its purpose well... for before that the town I live in (between San Antonio and Austin) was prone to severe flooding also.

We still have probs with low-water crossings here, however. Last November we had another heavy rainfall and during the worst of it, a local couple tried to drive through one of the worst crossings. The girl, in her early 20s was driving and as the car was swept away managed to call 911 with her cell. By the time they got there the car was gone but they heard the cries of the boyfriend who was hanging onto a tree...they managed to save him.

Unfortunately, to this day....the body of the girl has never been found.
