GERN -

I would assume it will take some time for the disease modifying activity of Imetelstat to actually show effect on spleen size. If the bone marrow heals, there is no need for blood production in the spleen and it will go back to its normal function and form.

Absolutely it is possible...

1) And if blade et al are right in their interpretation of the somewhat strange language structure in the abstract then it has already happened to 8-ish patients.

2) OTOH if the language is as per the alternate interpretation then it is still possible if you wait longer. My point was only that it isn't by any means assured.

GERN - I think the most interesting part of the cc was the following:

Okay. And then just as a quick follow-up. With the responses that are referred to in the abstract this morning, I mean, I guess, what is the definition of those responses? Are they according to the criteria that you mentioned? Or are they just kind of referring to responses specifically to do with the bone marrow and the blood?

John A. Scarlett - Chief Executive Officer, President and Director
I think I'm going to have to let you read the abstract for yourself and interpret it that way. I'm not going to be able to make any comments about that, sorry.

He knew it had multiple possible interpretations and chose not to clarify.
