I frequently get complaints along the line of "soandso is guilty of this violation, and they should be suspended/terminated/drawn-and-quartered at once." The inclusion of the expected punishment automatically serves to mitigate the underlying complaint since it evidences an agenda by the complainant. The role of the user ends at filing the complaint. That site admins look at the severity, context, frequency, history and other related matters to determine what if any administrative actions should be taken.

The same is true regarding TOS complaints about moderators. Matt reviews TOS complaints about moderators and does communicates with them when he believes it is warranted. I have even done so a couple of times when I felt that there were some unnecessary deletions. However; circumventing the TOS system by attacking the moderators directly accomplishes nothing other than to land administrative sanctions on the attacker.
