Light and green bottles plus temperature cycling are the worst for skunking. Can't even buy certain brands around here because they are not popular enough to avoid too much light exposure.

Had a 1989 Cuvee Frederic Emile Trimbach Alsacian Riesling on the recomendation of a wine salesperson, because I enjoy really good Rheingau and Mosel Rieslings.

I was really disappointed. I would have been disappointed if it cost 20 bucks and it cost a lot more.

Cork was moldy on exterior, not neccessarily a bad thing according to Jancis. Removed easily, which is not good. Had crystals (sugar?) on wine side. Minerally and bitter. Even tasted a bit of camphor.

I am going to send the recomender the cork. If they don't make good, I am done doing business with them. Is supposed to be peaking, but even without the icky flavors, tasted way to far gone. Like something opened and left in the fridge for three weeks.
