I really believe that it was typical 14 year olds that just didn't know how to handle such a deep subject matter so they reacted in ridicule instead. The whole idea of the play just went right over their stupid heads. I might add that the kids who went to the night production had a totally different reaction - probably because they were in a mixed audience. I actually saw a few of the girls crying through it (I myself came close too).
