1) Just because someone is new to the board does not mean they're new to Ariad as a stockholder. Nor does it mean they're "newbies" in terms of knowledge or insight.
2) I hope you treat newcomers to your neighborhoods better than you do newcomers to this board. This Us (oldies) v. Them (newbies) is destructive and toxic and ultimately unnecessary.
