Thanks for the reference to Kuhn - I'll look into that. If the paradigm shift refers to the holistic process of taking a step into the future, what would you call taking a step backwards? Atavistic? I'd appreciate it if you could throw me a term that is similar to paradigm shift.

I think Chart's quote is from Covey's book quoting Kuhn. I do know that Covey gave Kuhn credit for "paradigm shift."
