The cost of processing is per ton of rock. Cost per ton will be similar except extra cost to extract it 500 feet below the surface is more than on the surface.
Certainly yield per ton can change the financial relative costs but the Colorado School of Mines study already has proven it to be viable at today's market value of Niobium.
