Although I agree with what you are saying, I would totally be against losing anonymity. That opens people up to real life threats to their safety, much worse than some name calling, etc. Having been stalked before, I would not participate here if it was not anonymous.
I've maintained for years that the real solution to the problem being described here is the elimination of anonymity. If everyone here was fully identified to everyone else there would scarcely be the nonsense that occurs when people can't behave. It is my feeling that the bad behavior is encouraged by the lack of real accountability.
