re; It's obvious you have never run a large thread for any amount of time.

You know nothing about me, so don't assume anything. I will tell you that I have managed a stock-specific thread here on iHub for quite a while and do not want to see the site precedent which you are advocating implemented. And this particular stock is not a penny stock or a pink sheeter, either. You may think that your private romper room would apply only to your stock of interest, but I promise you it would not. I have no interest in IDCC nor do I have any interest in you or your other posters. I do have a vested interest in how your thrust impacts other boards I am interested in.

re: I'm not trying to change the rules here for my or anybody else's benefit I'm just trying to improve what I think is a great place.

Respectfully, that is not true. Your altruistic subterfuge is transparent. Your only concern is that in which you have a vested interest (the IDCC board). My vested concern is with other boards of my frequenting and your proposal would negatively impact them (see Bob's earlier statements with which I agree wholeheartedly).

You see Jim, it's like this. If you want a site that allows private romper rooms, pony up the money and build your own site, much like Matt and Bob have done. Set your own rules, knock yourself out. This is the situation to which your tavern owner anology refers. You see, you don't own this tavern. Neither do I. We are both guests here. We abide by the rules set by the real owners (Matt & Bob).

Now, if you want to make them an offer they can't refuse for their tavern, you can immediately post your new rules on the window. Otherwise, abide by their rules or move on down the street to that vacant office front and open up your own tavern.

Capice?

re: I in turn have and ran a thread with over 1000 members. I had the same abilities that Matt and Bob have but by laying out rules ( No politics, No religion and ot's on week ends)things went very smooth. I only had to put a few in what's called jail here but they were allowed back and then followed the rules. These rules were in agreement with all members. I only banned one person for life and that was because the guy posted a phony news release on April fools day and I didn't think it was funny because some may have lost money on that.

Why don't you return to that utopia? If it already exists, why try to reinvent it? If it failed, why?
