For me it does not span the whole width. The ads and avatar/profile of poster are gone now thankfully but the message box is in the center and is too narrow. Is that the right way its supposed to be?

No, for me the message area spans the entire width.

That was the tricky bit to code. Disabling mcenter class did the trick for me, but I don't have a clue as to why its not working in your case.

Hopefully there might be better coders than me that might be able to pipe in with a solution.

When I installed his code the display looked just as it used to before the change. Perhaps you loaded the first code he posted and not the more recent one?
