There are lots of oddities in the markets. they usually occur when i take a position (ng). im pretty much short only at this point in the game so im right there with you thinking the risk reward is no longer there for long positions.

Like I said, I think GN-03 is in big trouble if there's going to be any hope of meeting the time tables given. Heck, from right here, it will need to average down 9.5 points per day just so there's no rethinking. I'm not saying it won't happen, I'm just saying it's running out of time, and fast. I'm not so sure buyers exhaustion can even meet the EOM requirement at this point..

Nice pic... (needs new caption)

(caption should read: Sol laughs as Zeev steals Richard's pen -- which doubles as a toothbrush -- and puts in George's mouth)

From Earlie:

"As Fred Hickey has so eloquently pointed out, most of the PC/cell phone manufacturers were worried that the war might impede their JIT deliveries of chips so they placed large orders with their semi suppliers and took delivery during the early part of Q1 (this is why semi producers could claim that their order books were "holding up"). Unfortunately, the end-of-chain sales have been miserable, so we now have clogged arteries, hence congestive heart failure symptoms are likely across the sector."

Here's a strange one for you. The TICK for all intents and purposes hasn't been negative today. At 9:50ish, it had a short little spike down to -98, but that has been it. So for 4 hours now the TICK hasn't really been below 0. How can that be? People can't buy stocks fast enough? And at 12:12 we got a 1300+ TICK. Looks like the highest TICK since around Mar 22ndish or so. And then in Feb. we had by my count 5 TICKs that were higher, and 2 in Jan.

The TICK had been up trending off a local low it put in at 2:45ish yesterday and looks to have finally topped at 12:12. Looks to be slowly rolling over, but we got a 1000+ TICK at 1:18. And there's INTC hitting a new HOD. A few others chimming in now. Indexes all HOD. Looks like the lowest the TICK has been since 9:50 is about 150+. Strange. Very strange.

PREM has been very quiet all day. We in a rare occurance (and second time this week, Tuesday being the other) did not have program trading on the open, and then hit buying in the 9:35 time frame, and also came within an eyelash of program selling in the 9:35 time frame. Since then it's pretty much been sideways.

So are there no sellers at all today? Is it to da moon? Interesting, IBM was quietly going sideways a little red until just after 12, when it turned up and is now up $1. MSFT turned up about then too. PSFT and SEBL are going wild today compare to others, both up over 5%. And yet both have already warned for the quarter.
