Agree Fred ... it would not be a bad idea to restrict television watching and video game playing either.

The family that plays together, stays together ... and kids learn by example in the VAST majority of cases, imo.

I agree. The problem is that there are millions of single parent households. How do you incent these parents to take more interest in their childern's academics?

What about all those kids that go to Exeter and the like and spend almost no time with their parents? I almost agree with what you are saying but I know people who work 2 jobs, in families with both parents working and are still involved with their children. I don't think its simple.
