They are going to a trade show. Period. They are going to present a product at the trade show where there will be hundreds of others. That's all. There are hundreds of trade shows in China every year; thousands in the USA and tens of thousands worldwide. It really doesn't mean Jack Schitt. They are not having any private meetings with government officials. Government officials will be meeting with groups of entrepreneurs. There is nothing unusual about this. In the USA, government officials at local and state levels frequently attend such gatherings. The advertising is deceptive because it could be interpreted as if they ha something special going on; they do not.
Those who have been to trade shows, even if only in the USA, know exactly how this work. The presenter rubs shoulders with the big shot, who later do not remember who you are. There are multiple seminars and presenters can usually go free of charge. Sometimes, there are gatherings around the table of a presenter so that the general public can view a product.
The company barely has enough money to rent a table. Probably some friend is offering them a place to stay for a few days. Otherwise a cheap hotel.
The pumping of the trip to China, which so many here see as very bullish, is exactly what turns me off the most. I can see past the lipstick to the pig. The market also feels that way about it. If investors and momentum players viewed this as positive, they would be pouring into this stock already. But they greet this statement by the company with a yawn.
If this "new" management were investing a million or more in the business, it would be a different matter, but they are not putting a penny into it. I wouldn't be surprise if they issued themselves stock for the vacation in China.
