HCV: IMO, the ultimate goal is getting away from Interferon altogether. Ribavirin also causes significant problems...HCT values approaching 10.0 for example. A novel approach is needed and VRTX/RNAI/others are finally making inroads.
VRTX: Also I want to add one more thing. We need to see bigger studies inorder to see that there are no safety issues.The data from that big phase 2 trial will be out by the end of 2006. Then the true potential of vx-950 will be unleashed.
