Actually, I'm with you in some ways.
I prefer certain rules too like "touch and move"
when it comes to chess. You touch it, you move it.
Of course, I'm one of those who appreciates change when it is for the better such as instant replay for getting calls right in the NFL and soon to be in MLB. When you have fortunes riding on the outcomes of games not just by the team owners but by the individuals who play the games, you don't want a crooked ref or umpire or even an honest mistake determining the outcome of a game.
