what I think is going on with the website.
They are revamping the whole site to accomidate a feature that noone else has bin able to do on the internet yet. think about it. CC knows that NFLX and Gamefly are out there. CC knows that gameznflix has come late to the rental game, and yet they continue to let this company do a test... a test?
"We are currently testing our services with Circuit City. Circuit City's policy is to not comment on ongoing tests so I can not provide you with additional details about the nature of the tests or the results of the tests."
what services are they testing? Are they testing to see if rentals sell? maybe, but they have NFLX and gamefly to go by. Are they testing a Browser? a Filing system? Tests are to prove things work, and we know browsers and certified filing systems work. so what are they possibly testing with GZFX? Something new. something CC saw back in nov that GZFX was working on that would change the industry. what is that?
from december 1st press release transcript:
Another thing that is very strong for us is what is the evolution of rental business?
We are aggressively looking at a download model or paper view model, one that would allow us to offer to our members a title that is electronically delivered, you know that is the next stage of this business. And whether that be through a computer, to a media center PC that is attached to the television, or satellite system of some sort, or an IP based television, that is something we are aggressively looking at because the technology and more importantly, the market for that may not be here right now, we know that some of the things that has happened in and around the business, that it is absolutely coming, and we want to be ready for it in anticipation of what that is.
from webcast
...(interviewer)does the company have any plans to develop an on demand platform?
(john fleming)Not only do we have plans, we are ready to beta test, we are in fact we are so close to beta test right now, we got everything in place and we are running internal testing right now before we take it out to the outside world for beta testing. We believe that the industry is going to lead in the next years to the direct download, and so we've spent probably the last year working on that portion of our business and getting ready to move forward in it. One of the hurdles of that industry in the direct download is going to be the studios recognizing that its a real market, and their going to have to address it and address it with the vendors like ourselves.
(interviewer)And when do you plan on rolling that platform out?
(john fleming) As soon as my legal department says I can roll it out, as I said were already testing it internally, and we just have a couple more hurdles we want to make sure, because we at all times want to make sure that we are maintaining our copyright protection for the studios and ourselves, as well as the users who are going to be using it so we have a few more legal hurdles to clear and then we are ready to bring it out to actual beta testing in the public.
I did not use any qoutes just to be on the safe side, I got it as close as possible, this is from the webcast dated November 10, 2005, and located at 04:05/07:35 minutes
the company is not saying something, something HUGE. Gameznflix is a company that is visionary. It has something up its sleeve that no one is ever going to see coming. Its fishy how CC quickly partners with a company that until there pilot was going down the dumps. they get there revenue from SELLING video games and DVDs. that makes them one in a million.but internet video on demand (that sounds awesome) would separate them from the rest and totally rock the rental industry, and that is why they partnered with gameznflix.
has anyone thought that maybe GZFX is ready for CC, but It may not be the only deal they are expanding for? in the goals list, they don't list that one of there goals is to complete the deal with Circuit city does it? maybe they have an overall group of partners they want to aquire but there still in talks with. They are targeting young internet users, who knows... maybe they will announce a deal with a pizza company, or AOL instant messanger.
They have to have more deals, I think that March 15th won't come without big news of another deal going down or at least more aggressive advertizing, they plan to do that.
Even though CC is a big part in GZFX's success, CC is not the only company GZFX is dealing with, you can count on that.
"(INTERVIEWER)Can investors expect similar relationships with big name retailers in the near future? (CEO JOHNFLEMING)We are in negotiations with other similar types of programs, not necessarily retail stores, however we have a program under discussion right now with 2 other major companies that for one that has saY for example 25,000 people that are using that comapny, and wants to go into a similar program as th Circuit City program with us..."
