Can't agree, AAPL does in fact know the music business. They have done massive research within the internet music business. I personally like the idea.
Zeev - While AAPL may not understand the business, the existing companies are locked into a 1950's business model. I think the music business is ripe for a new model and AAPL might just be the right company to develop and execute an improved business model.
The question is whether they can leverage an improved model into making money before the entrenched companies can incorporate the best of their new ideas and crush AAPL as IBM, CPQ did in PC's.
I would like to think Jobs et al learned something from that experience and could be more successful this time.
