I've checked around. It looks like you'll be hard pressed to find a consumer PC - with 64-bit Athlon 64 or X2 - that allows the end user to configure it with more than 2GB of memory. As far as I'm concerned, that's a broken usage model. Even if an end user is running into memory limits, the 64-bit CPU isn't helping them. And do you think it's going to be different for laptops where the SO-DIMMs are even lower density and more expensive?
