Why do you not think the Fed/PPT would not be using customized computer program trading just like everybody else? - no muss, no fuss, and no paper trail. I would strongly suspect they would use several different versions, but mostly it would be to buy a mix of futures (possibly index for turning a market and individual stocks for support buying), perhaps some ETF's, and a relatively short list of selected stocks such as INTC, MSFT, CSCO, GM and GE.
