But the vast majority of programs aren't MT and I've explained many times why this is so. And there are programs out there that will have problems with DC out of the box.
There's a whole host of applications that receive enormous boosts from going dual core. Just compare the results of the 2.0GHz Core Duo to that of the 2.0GHz Pentium M. I think you will find that the results contradict your position.
