I think he might be seeing massive growth and is just plain scared to pull back from funding from shares. Though it has reduced significantly in the past year, his income may be enough to turn the tide. But if he's fearful of the old adage, "if your outgo exceeds your income, your overhead will be your downfall." Massive growth is a double edged sword to manage one's way thru. He may be building in a large cushion to protect the company from having to prioritize which customers are happy.
