#70116 RE: xanadu #70025

xanadu: I thought of that too, but XM and Sirius offer two similar but different packages. Such as, you can get Howard Stern on Sirius, but not XM, for an example. There are others regarding different channels, sports, etc. offerings to consumers w/ their services. But, w/ DVD's and games, there's prett much no exclusivity on those. Everybody in this business is in the same boat, having access to the same offerings. It's up to the service to deliver...that's the only real difference. And just like Coke/Pepsi...some folks prefer one over the other for whatever reason. There is enough room here for more that one significant player.

Again, I think that if Netflix were to aquire any game service it would have to be Gamefly unless they were to wait until Gamefly's contract were terminated w/ BestBuy for whatever reason. IMO, it would just look real bad if they started offering games while begin pushed by BestBuy along w/ Gamefly. Gamefly would, IMO, be toast in no time.

Then again, maybe Netflix acquiring another competing gameing rental service would be reason enough for BestBuy to terminate their contract w/ Gamefly. Dunno, just thinking out loud here.
